Okay, so I'm not...

...the greatest when it comes to updating 'blogs'. I spend waaay to much time on Facebook as my 'social networking' site of choice, and by the time I've seen everything the internet has to offer (at least that's what some of my friends say), I just don't have the energy to 'blog'.

Wellp...here's the latest blog.

The barbeque season is quickly approaching. In fact, there is a contest in the greater Chicagoland area this weekend (the Winter Burnoff in Des Plaines) but it's a little to far, and a little to cold, for me to venture 5 hours up there for this contest. I did cook it 3 years ago (it was the very first contest I had ever cooked), and had a great time, but will be staying close to the home fires this Valentine's weekend. Probably a good call since it's my wedding anniversary weekend as well.

It's been since December of 2008 that I last posted here. Sorry. After reading the title/subtitle of the blog, I'm realizing that I should probably change it to reflect the reality of what will actually be typed here...general life, not just barbeque. Though that line between general life and barbeque is VERY blurry most of the time, I may be more likely to post to the blog if I simply use this site to type stream-of-thought, not just particular topics. SO, that being said, this blog has now officially become my Stream-Of-Thought blog.

That's as profound as I am able to muster for now. There are some pretty big changes on the horizon...stay tuned; I'll try to remember to post as life happens.

Here I am...

Okay, I don't know what kind of job I'll do keeping up with this blog (since most of my online 'social' time is spent on MySpace and FaceBook), but I wanted to get this site up and running to post things important, fun, funny, exciting, and/or interesting. Basically, things that give me a culinary boner. Geez, did I just use the word 'boner'?? Don't know where that came from...I don't think I've used that word since Brooke Shields was a teenage pin-up.
